Q: What are the district’s hours of operation?
A: The district office is typically open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Enrollment & Registration
Q: How do I enroll my child in a school within the district?
A: To enroll your child, please visit the school office and speak with the secretary. They will provide a registration packet to complete.
Q: What documents are required for enrollment?
A: You will need to provide a birth certificate, immunization records (or an exemption form if your child is not immunized), and a release of records if your child previously attended another school.
Q: How do I determine which school my child will attend?
A: School placement is determined by your child’s age and grade. Our Early Childhood program serves 3–4-year-olds, and the elementary school serves grades K–4.
Transportation
Q: Is bus transportation provided?
A: Yes, bus transportation is available for students living in outlying areas. Please note that there are no in-town bus routes.
Q: How can I find my child’s bus schedule?
A: Bus schedules and routes can be obtained by contacting the school office. They are also posted in our newsletter at the beginning of the school year.
Academics & Curriculum
Q: What curriculum does the district follow?
A: The district follows the state-mandated curriculum for each grade level. This includes Amplify CKLA for ELA and Eureka Math.
Q: Are advanced placement (AP) or honors classes available?
A: Honors classes are not available at the elementary level.
Student Support & Services
Q: What special education services are available?
A: Special education services include academic support, social-emotional learning, speech therapy, occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), mobility support, vision and braille services, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP).
Q: How do I access counseling services for my child?
A: You can access counseling services by notifying your child’s teacher or by contacting the school counselor directly.
Health & Safety
Q: What are the district’s health and safety protocols?
A: The district follows all state requirements for health and safety protocols.
Q: Are immunizations required?
A: Yes, immunizations are required unless a valid exemption form is provided.

Meals & Nutrition
Q: Are school meals available for students?
A: Yes, breakfast and lunch are available daily. Menus and pricing are posted online.
Q: How can I apply for free or reduced-price meals?
A: Applications are available online or at any school office.
Parent & Community Involvement
Q: How can parents get involved in the school district?
A: Parents and family members can get involved through the Parent Involvement Resources Center, the WATCH D.O.G.S. program, drive-through events, Grandparent’s Day, eating lunch with their children, math and literacy nights, English Language Learner (ELL) nights, and other family engagement events. If you want to volunteer in the classroom, please contact your child’s teacher.
Q: Are there programs for community partnerships?
A: Yes, the district partners with the local museum, Chamber of Commerce, Lander County Tourism, the local hospital, Bengoa Physical Therapy, mining corporations, and others to support student learning and community engagement.
